To install the beta version of the Force.com IDE, follow these instructions: Downloading the Beta Version of the Force.com IDE.

Changes in this beta version of Force.com IDE v37.0 include the following.

Lightning Support

As promised at TrailheaDX '16, we've added support for Lightning Components to the Force.com IDE. This beta release includes the following features.

Multi-Page Editor

Easily access and edit all the files in your Lightning component bundle. The Multi-Page editor opens by default when you open a component bundle.

Documentation Browser

Access documentation for built-in tags and functions without leaving the IDE. To open the Lightning Doc view, select View > Show View > Other > Lightning Doc.

Quick Navigation (Outline View)

Quickly locate and navigate between the elements in your Lightning component bundle. To open Outline View, press CMD + O on a Mac, or CTRL + O on Windows or Linux.

Quick Navigation (Open Dialog)

Quickly locate and navigate between all your Lightning component bundles. To display the Open Dialog, press CMD + Shift + A on a Mac, or CTRL + Shift + A on Windows or Linux.

Auto-Completion

Save time and avoid typos with the auto-completion feature for markup, JavaScript, and CSS files. To invoke auto-completion, press CTRL + Space when you're editing a file.
