Hack Day - September 27th

Thanks to our generous HEAD sponsors over the past years, we've collected 6+ years of video content from various REST Fest events. What if we gave that collection its own API?

Most of the videos are already available via Vimeo's API--which is great btw! 😄 However, what if we wanted that same API output represented in Collection+JSON, or AtomPub, or SIREN, or...

Meet the Representor Pattern!

Everyone's got their favorite format, programming language, and approach to APIs. What if we were each (or in groups) to re-represent the video collection into our own "flavors"? What if, at the end of the day, we looked at each of the approaches and compared notes to see how far we all got, what worked, what didn't work, what could be better, etc. Sounds like a Hack Day, doesn't it?! 😸

If this goes well, we'll have a collection of representor code libraries making (perhaps via proxies) the current API output available to generic client UIs for any of the chosen formats. Prefer to work on those UIs? That'd also be amazing. 😁
