This change is part of issue #876 and addresses the redefined-variable-type check messages.

I’m torn about this change, because it seems to be an issue with pylint as well: pylint-dev/pylint#8955. Perhaps it would make more sense to disable the multiple-types checker until the issue is resolved 🤔

I’ll add the appropriate configuration to pyproject.toml in a separate PR later.
