Locations Module (LocalGov Geo)

ekes edited this page Aug 30, 2021 · 3 revisions

The LocalGov Geo module provides reusable locations, both addresses and areas. By default it is used for the Directories Venue content type, but the same locations can be reused throughout the site.

Addresses

The Address type autocompletes. It has space for accessibility information, and hidden ID for relating to your Geo system if needed. Other fields can be added as required.

Creating an address

You can use different providers for you address autocomplete, for example whichever your Geo department already has an account with, check the Installing new geocoders page for technical details.

Areas

You can also create areas, for example: ward, conservation area boundaries, parks. Again additional fields can be added as required.

Reusing locations

Made one, maintain in one location, for example that accessibility information, and reuse again.

Administering locations

The locations are content in your LocalGov Drupal site so administrators with the appropriate permissions can also access, edit and delete them from the content administration pages.
