Scrubbing triggers a load of unnecessary network requests, option to prevent seeking until mouseup?

I've had a look at the code and can see it can't be fixed via the API.
I don't want to make 50 requests for a chance of seeing a few frames while scrubbing.
The seek should only be called on mouseup, this really ought to be the default behaviour.
