I am an open-source enthusiast and have been working to both write open-source and help others write and get funded to work on open-source for many years. I started what became the SciPy project in 1998 while a graduate student and wrote NumPy in 2005. I have been quite involved in the creation of Numba, Conda, Bokeh, Dask, XND, UArray, and JupyterLab while helping hire and support developers of Spyder, SymPy, Cython, PyPy, Matplotlib, Jupyter, and many other tools.

I founded NumFOCUS in 2012 along with Anaconda. I started Quansight (including Quansight Labs and Quansight Initiate), OpenTeams, and FairOSS all directed towards the effort of helping more Community-Driven open source get created and funded.

Your sponsorship will enable me to spend more time helping the PyData community transition to the future and help produce new innovations like EPython and High level APIs for Arrays, Dataframes, and DataTypes.
