FWIW, I rode the autopilot all the way into the station, and even when the ship was fully stopped, the police never hit me.
Secondly, I didn't get fined/caught for selling the contraband - seems that if the police intercepted me, then the station should be aware that I'm smuggling instead of that being a separate check.
Seems like they are shooting with beam lasers? I think enemies would never have them because they were imposible to dodge. But in this case it seem lik they are assuming a projectile velocity and aim with that in mind? But then why aim at the retrograde marker?
Observed behaviour
Intercepted by police while carrying illegal goods. Police opened fire, but never hit me - they are aiming at my velocity vector, not at me.
