Observed behaviour

Intercepted by police while carrying illegal goods. Police opened fire, but never hit me - they are aiming at my velocity vector, not at me.

Rear view (decelerating towards Clarke Station):

Expected behaviour

Enemy ships target my ship.

Steps to reproduce

  • carry illegal goods
  • approach station on autopilot (with an offset velocity vector)
  • get intercepted by police
  • watch police miss

My pioneer version (and OS):
Pioneer "master"; Debian GNU/Linux 12

My output.txt (required) and game save (optional, but recommended)

FWIW, I rode the autopilot all the way into the station, and even when the ship was fully stopped, the police never hit me.

Secondly, I didn't get fined/caught for selling the contraband - seems that if the police intercepted me, then the station should be aware that I'm smuggling instead of that being a separate check.

Seems like they are shooting with beam lasers? I think enemies would never have them because they were imposible to dodge. But in this case it seem lik they are assuming a projectile velocity and aim with that in mind? But then why aim at the retrograde marker?
