Summary:
On August 25th, we'll be doing something a bit different, and taking a high-level look at all of the papers accepted to ACM's conference on International Computing Education Research (aka. ICER) for 2022. There's a lot of really interesting papers to dig into (including some from author's who have joined us for past editions), and we think this is a good opportunity to get a view across the whole discipline.
Joe will be joined by a special guest cohost for this edition: Pj Metz (he/him), Education Evangelist at GitLab, and former high-school English teacher. You can learn mor eabout Pj below!
As ever, you can post comments and questions about the report in this discussion thread. Questions posted before the live event will be discussed during the live stream, but the conversation continues here after the event, too!
Are there any particular papers you are interested in? Have you already read any of these papers? Let us know in the comments!
About Pj Metz
Pj Metz(he/him) is an Education Evangelist at GitLab and a former high school English teacher. After 11 years in the classroom, He started learning to code in May of 2020 and began to live stream his sessions learning C# and Node shortly after. His current role is all about bringing DevOps into the classroom by making GitLab available to educators around the world. He also hosts a few workshops for students to get experience with GitLab and concepts they might not encounter in the classroom.
Pj loves 80’s music, including modern music that sounds like it was made in the 80’s, 90’s internet culture, and poetry. He leads poetry reading events for GitLab team members and participates often in the Latinx and Pride Team Member Resource Groups. Currently, you can find him on Twitch each month learning about contributing to GitLab, making Twitter bots for his favorite musicians and events, or learning more about the people behind the tech on the podcast 8-bits, where he is the co-host.
