During the v0.113.0 release the Collector leads had some discussions related to the Collector release process, its reliability and how we can consistently improve it moving forward. Here is a list of the items discussed:

We should focus on the following goals when considering this work:

  1. Detecting changes that would cause issues in the release as soon as possible, ideally before they land on main
  2. Reducing time-to-recovery when an issue happens during the release
  3. Reducing end user impact of release issues
  4. Reducing the chance of human error in the loop
