social.lol: Automated post deletion #510

I’m not sure. Beyond the vague note on the setting page about the timing, there’s no other information or documentation about the setting, especially how it works on the back end. Mastodon uses Sidekiq for background processing of jobs, and a lot of the processes have vague or inscrutable names. I just took a look and all I saw for scheduled items were LinkCrawlWorker jobs and PollExpirationNotifyWorker jobs, which don’t sound like they have anything to do with deleting posts, but I can’t be certain. It’s also not clear how weather post deletions would be scheduled and delayed, or if they don’t even get scheduled until other unknown criteria are met. I know this is frustrating (for me too!). I’ve asked in the Mastodon Discord and hopefully we’ll get some more info from someone there (but no response as of yet). Out of curiosity, have you tried disabling the setting, waiting a little while, and then re-enabling it? I have no idea if that would actually do anything, but it seems like it would be worth a try (or at least couldn’t hurt). |

Is this working? Is there a way in the backend to see queued user deletion processes? I turned this on something like a week or more ago and in that first 24-hour period I definitely saw stuff delete, but since then I am not convinced it's done a single thing. I know the process is deliberately slow, but this slow would seem a bit ridiculous.
