Question: Possible to have same wallet on two devices?

Hi there!

No, Muun does not support multiple active sessions. It's mainly a security issue, since as a general rule, you want to have sensitive key material in the least number of places possible.

@acrespo Thanks - I understand the security issues as explained there, but I'm curious how to work around the idea of sharing BTC with a spouse. Some couples prefer transparency between each other and often have one 'fiat' bank account. So the use case doesn't work with Muun unfortunately.

I'm curious how Muun suggests working around this - it it's even possible?

Would you mind me asking what the main purpose of this "shared" account/wallet would be? E.g if it's mainly for saving/hodling, then you could share the RecoveryCode and EmergencyKit for both of you to have complete self custody. If both of you need to receive funds, you could pre-share BTC address in advance (one of you should be the main account/wallet user), though this could be a bit of a hassle with LN invoices (currently have a 24h expiration time). If on the other hand, the main purpose is spending, then that's a different story. I'm afraid Muun, at this point, isn't the right tool for that scenario.

So far, we have focused on building a wallet as simple as possible without compromising security or self-custodianship. As we go forward, we'd love to add support for more advanced features.

I have to vote for allowing one wallet/two devices. Same scenario. In the current world (at least here in Seattle WA) there aren't that many opportunities to actually use BTC in the wild to pay for a transaction. To prepare for the fortuitous occurrence when either of us sees it is possible and we want to try to actually spend some Bitcoin, we'd like to have Muun wallets available. On each of our phones, because we're in different places during the day and who knows what we might find. But we don't want to put any significant BTC into our wallets, and we also don't want to do extra transactions out of our cold wallet. I was hoping I could take the recovery code from the one phone where I've set up Muun and just enter it into the other phone. Voila, two phones, same wallet. I see from falcon #13 that the server enters into it as well. But is the "digital hygiene" argument convincing? Isn't the PIN, with its limited (4!) tries before lockout, useful for that? Maybe it needs to be opt-in (and therefore absolving Muun itself of any loss). But still useful. (And you know there's now at least three users wanting this capability ... among all those who don't know to find/comment on an open Github issue about it ...)
