I hope the official can release a base image package to Microsoft's registry

+1, it would be helpful to be able to point to a published image so that users don't have to bother copying the code and doing our own build and publishing. That change would make that page linked above dramatically simpler. For those who want to add packages, the published image could be used as a base. Maybe separate tags for the three variants: Windows, Alpine, and Ubuntu?
