Both my partner and I have experienced issues with location updates in the background "out of nowhere."
Home Assistant Version: 2024.12.2
Devices and App Details:
Device 1: iPhone 12, iOS 18.1.1, App Store version 2024.12. Location updates stopped at an undetermined moment, possibly after updating to 2024.12. Logging out and back in did not resolve the issue.
Device 2: iPhone 16, iOS 18.1.1, TestFlight version 2024.12. Initially resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. However, after updating to TestFlight version 2024.12.1 (or coincidentally around the same time), the issue reappeared. Reinstalling the App Store version 2024.12.1 temporarily fixed the problem.
Observations (Potentially Relevant):
Other sensors, such as battery and SSID, continue to update correctly.
Reinstalling the app (even with the same version, e.g., TestFlight → App Store) (temporarily) resolves the issue.
Using the "Send Location" feature (press and hold the app icon) did not work initially. However, after installing the App Store version 2024.12.1, it started working. I cannot reproduce this consistently.
The app occasionally fails to retain some settings, which may be related to this issue:
I use dark mode, but the app reverted to light mode ('auto' mode) on its own. Sidebar items and order were also reset to default.
After switching back to dark mode, the app reverted to light/auto mode after a force quit.
During this time, the "Send Location" feature also did not work.
I hope this information is helpful! Let me know if there’s anything I can clarify or test further.
