The community health page https://github.com/dotnet-foundation/dotnetfoundation-website/community suggests adding these three files and I agree.

  • README - should describe the source, how to get it running, where it's hosted, etc.
  • CONTRIBUTING.md - should describe information on how to contribute for potential contributors such as defining platform, style guides, etc.
  • CODE_OF_CONDUCT - should probably just link to the overall .NET Foundation COC here: https://dotnetfoundation.org/code-of-conduct

@eriawan do you mean just for this repository? Or are you suggesting that the .NET Foundation adopt that code of conduct as opposed to the one it already uses?
