Not sure if you can fix it, but if I scroll right and left, if I have the pacific ocean in the middle I lose china or north america location icons.

that's indeed a map engine limitation. I will try to limit the horizontal scroll feature just to the current world, I will check if I can, at least it would prevent the problem
