The older version for mail.py requires a lionmail device login to start the email server (server.login(args.from_addr, os.environ["LIONMAIL_DEVICE_PASS"]). We deleted it because we didn't setup a LIONMAIL_DEVICE_PASS environment variable / unsure how to, but might be good to figure out how to setup a login feature in case someone uses this script off CLAC.
