We propose improving Bitcoin.org’s design to make it more fun, friendly, and accessible by incorporating playful elements. Our hope is that this would make it more engaging, like websites from the early Internet, and less like an archive of purely educational resources.

Herecomesbitcoin.org is an open-source creative project that provides dozens of license-free Bitcoin illustrations and GIFs to creatives and marketers within the bitcoin ecosystem.

Five to ten of Here Comes Bitcoin's illustrations could be animated and quietly distributed around the website. These motion graphics would pop up if a user hovered their cursor over a slightly visible illustration or clicked or touched it using their phone. This would reward visitors and entice them to spend more time exploring bitcoin.org.

The following demo illustrates how this will work and look. To see for yourself, click or tap Bitcoin’s hand. It is only a single example, but it captures what we are going for. We will provide more examples as the project progresses. The plan is to sprinkle 5–10 of these Bitcoins around bitcoin.org.

This is really great. Would love to see this go live.

It does seem like bitcoin.org is too serious so this adds a nice playful touch and also gives users an incentive to explore the site, maybe learning something in the process by stumbling on a new page they wouldn't have otherwise. We have lots of pages with good content that are easy to miss.

In general we struggle a lot with interactivity on bitcoin.org. There aren't many animations and going around the site it's very much a lot of text and not so satisfying to navigate around.

This will also create more unwanted visitors like robots continuously scraping and hunting for sats. Should be some POW involved.
