Hey Alpine buds! Caleb here.
I'm going to be pulling V3 code into this repo soon and am taking the opportunity to shore up the maintenance burden.
I've decided to remove the concept of "Issues" from this repo as I believe it's a flawed concept and GitHub's new "Discussions" are better suited for the task.
Briefly, here are my two issues with issues (lol):
I think having different discussion groups for "Features" and "Bugs" will help with this in a few ways. Now, because there is no "open issues" counter on the home page of the repo, there's no real pressure to prematurely close issues.
As for making sure issues are addressed, both me and the community can better evaluate which issues and features are high priority because they can be "upvoted" (an insanely awesome feature that Issues lacked - resulting in "+1" comments).
ANOTHER side effect is it will funnel any non-contribution work into Discussions, so there will be more eyeballs in there to help answer questions and pitch ideas.
