It would make like easier for VCPKG users to access WebView2.

However I acknowledge that ensuring that the underlying platform is "correct" is a bit more difficult - this I would leave up to the developers as it seems easy to embed the appropriate installer in the final bundle being shipped - at least for windows environments.

I'm not familiar with VCPKG, but can it work with the Fixed Runtime binaries? Those basically just need to be dropped into a directory.

I've added a scenario to our backlog to look into this more.

I've just merged microsoft/vcpkg#25217 which should make WebView2 available via vcpkg install webview2. Please try it out and let us know if there are any issues!

I've just merged microsoft/vcpkg#25217 which should make WebView2 available via vcpkg install webview2. Please try it out and let us know if there are any issues!

Thank you so much! This being available saves a project of mine. Other than the 'unofficial' namespacing i can load a vue frontend without problems 👍
